A Clear Perspective on Burnout
Burnout isn’t about doing too much. It’s about losing energy without clarity.

Burnout is rarely caused by workload.
Most people are not burned out because they are doing too much. They are burned out because their energy is leaking while their outcomes remain unclear.
In my work, burnout follows a consistent pattern.
-
Energy spent without fulfillment
-
Decisions made without confidence
-
Effort applied without a clear destination
-
Emotional strain left unresolved
People often blame their job, schedule, or responsibilities.
In reality, burnout is usually a symptom of misalignment — working hard while feeling uncertain, unfulfilled, or misunderstood.
When energy leaks through distraction, indecision, low confidence, or relational tension, even meaningful work becomes exhausting.
Burnout is not a signal to stop working.
It is a signal to contain energy, restore clarity, and eliminate what drains it.
This philosophy guides my speaking, writing, and the work happening daily at the Going to Grow Burnout Recovery Center.
It exists to help people understand what burnout is actually asking of them — before it costs them their health, relationships, or sense of direction.
